Who's Who in our Group....

How to put the coaches in the SIP.... What pocket of money does it come out of?
How much can they ask for? How to ask....
They need to put that they need coaches.
We will inform them how they were paid for after we identify funds unless they want to use
school funds of their local title allocation. (Response from Dr. Kecia Ray.)

Contact Information for Technical Support----hardware, etc... If it is a "fix" it issue, please put in a help ticket. If it is standard equipment needed, please contact the TTRM.

Do we include time spent in the building, such as asking questions and talking with principals, secretaries, etc as "hours with teachers?" Great question....Count the time, but don't count principals and secretaries as teachers. It is probably one way we will count for planning time.
Do we round up/down to the nearest hour in "hours with teachers?" As in, if it was 45 min, do we round up to 1 hr? Yes, let's round.....0-29 minutes down; 30-59 up.
When you said "round down" for 0-29, does that mean we should put 30 minutes for time within that range? We are rounding to the nearest hour.... I guess for 29 minutes or less, we will put .5 hour. All other hours after 1, let's round to nearest half hour.
What if I made a mistake on a New Teacher Input Form that I already entered into the computer? Complete the Additions, Corrections and Amendments to New Teacher Database Form
Are we only entering time spent at the first visit with new teachers on the New Teacher Info Form that we do at this site? I am not sure exactly what this question means. Time spent in the schools will be recorded in two places---coaching log and new teacher info.
Please tell me if I am doing this right. Each day I complete a separate digital coach log form for each school I visit. I enter the total amount of time I am at that school. I need to make sure that the total amount of time matches the amount of time that written in the log-in book kept in the office. I also enter how many teachers I see and/or students I work with. That is the ONLY documentation I need to keep regarding my time. Total amount of time I am at schools will not add up to my 8 hour day if I am at more than one school (because of traveling) or if I sign out for lunch. Am I getting this right? You have it exactly right. Remember, this log is not being used to account for your 7.5 hour day. It is an accountability measurement tool we will use to report back to the state and federal government about how much coaching our teachers have received throughout the year. It will allow us to continue to get our funding. Thanks.
On digital coaching log, it says to round up to nearest hour. I was at school for 1 hour and 35 minutes so I wrote 2 hours. Will there be a problem since the school log has me signed in for 1 hour and 35 minutes? No, there will not be a problem.
These questions have been asked by new teachers:
When will they get their e-mail set up? I am getting mixed messages on this one.....some think it will be
by next Friday (first payroll); others do not want to give a timeline. Lance Lott sent out an email
about this issue to principals today (Aug. 12th).

Do they have to go to the board to give their payroll information? Their payroll number will be on their first check..... (Is this what you are asking?)
How and where do they get an i.d. badge? Id badges are issued at each school for teachers. It is up to the school.
Another question concerning payroll...I have a number of teachers that do not have an employee ID number. They are concerned about payroll; they are worried about getting paid the correct amount. Will someone from HR assign the employee ID or will they need to follow up with their book keeper? If the employee ID is assigned on, for example, Friday, they want to be sure their time in the school from Monday-Thursday is accounted for on their check. The bookkeeper in the school will take care of this issue for them. I am confident that they will get paid...... At last night's board meeting, Dr. June Keel addressed this issue. They are working non-stop to ensure that all new teachers get a pay check next Friday.
If we see a teacher more than once in a day, do we count them just once, or once for each visit? For example, I had a teacher who wanted me to check on his textbooks....it took me about a half day to get back to him. Does that count as one visit or two? Let's only count him as one.
I have a number of teachers at Whites Creek that do not have telephones or Chancery computers in their classrooms. (They have additional classrooms that have not been used for years now being used). While this may appear to be an inconvience situation, it could also be a safety issue (One of the teacher is the MIP/Conduct teacher). Any suggestions for solutions? I will send an email the TTRM (Technology Teacher Resource Manager) for Whites Creek, who is Colleen Grissom. TTRMs take care of the technology supply needs of the schools.) Wow, quick response..... Here's what Colleen sent me..... All new teachers have Chancery PCs and phones have been ordered for them.
What if we made a mistake in entering our new teacher forms? How can we correct our entries?
For right now, please mark errors on the hard copies. We will spend some time editing the final
spreadsheets in the next couple of weeks.

How many schools are still on Chancery and how many have moved to the pilot site? Is there any way that we could have that info? All schools are on Chancery except for approx. 50 of them. It is my understanding the Gradespeed is being implemented in waves of 40 schools at a time. Several schools piloted it last year. I will work on getting a list for us.

What is the procedure for new teachers that do not have a log-in for their computer?
Lance Lott sent out an email to principals letting them know that they are working on log ins. If you want to see
if their account has been created, try these steps:
1. Usernames are usually first initial + last name (mjohnson). If it is common, they usually add a middle initial
or number at the end. Ex. mljohnson; mjohnson2)

2. Default password for all new accounts: user2008 (They will immediately be prompted to change the
password once they log-in.)

I have a teacher that came from Memphis City Schools with 17 years of experience. Her principal has mentioned the evaluation cycle to her and the other teachers that are to be evaluated this year. Because she is new to MNPS, she wants to know if she will have to go through the new teacher cycle (3 eval. per year for 3 years), or if she will be evaluated only this year like the other veteran teachers. I believe this one is principal's discretion.
